Hey that is looking stunning! From your question on my review, It would be fine to use the narrower lining pieces, as long as you aren't adding a crinoline- or too much of one anyways. The lining could just go to floor length. Are the buttons functioning? Is there also a zipper?
Thanks for your advice. I didn't think to look here for your answer. I'm new at this. I went ahead and made the lining per the pattern, i.e. narrower. I'm going to try following the pattern to add the crinoline, too. The buttons are funtioning, with a purchased loop tape on the left, and there is no zipper. I got this advice from Susan K. I took her "Wedding Gowns 101" class. She says the only reason they do both is that it's too time consuming for customers trying on many dresses at a time. Made sense to me. Besides, I hate sewing on zippers!
